Earlier this year, the ThinkMD founding team completed our first multi-country journey across Africa, deepening relationships with partners, engaging directly with health workers, and gaining invaluable insight into how our technology is being used and how we can make it even better.
We navigated through Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Zambia, and South Africa, where we connected with a wide range of stakeholders: from school-based health workers and program leads, to NGO partners, Ministries of Health, and community health organisations.
Each country had a distinct focus:
With each new country and partner, we demonstrated ThinkMD’s commitment to building tools that work in the real world.
Our platform is designed for low-resource settings, where non-clinical health workers are the backbone of care delivery. To ensure what we build is relevant, usable, and impactful, we used this opportunity to invest in listening to those delivering care, those managing programs, and those on the ground adapting to local realities every day.
We gathered rich feedback on everything from device usage and workflows, to offline functionality and data reporting needs. These insights are already shaping product updates and implementation strategies as we move into our next phase of growth.
We're also seeing firsthand how our platform is helping shift behaviors, strengthen referrals, and improve early detection and triage of high-burden conditions like malaria, pneumonia, and dehydration.
As we continue to expand across the Global South, we know scale only happens through strong partnerships. We’re deeply grateful to the ministries, NGOs, educators, and health workers who welcomed us, challenged us, and shared their stories and perspectives.
We are more energized than ever, knowing that the work ahead is important, urgent, and possible.
More to come as we spend more time on the ground.
